Pastor Loucks never forgot his own fears of deputation from 1977 when he graduated from Bob Jones University to six years later when he first surendered for USA church-planting missions in the mountains and coal fields of southern West Virginia. Looking back over his life, he realized that it was the lessons, faith, and perseverance he had acquired from deputation that had kept him faithfully serving the Lord during difficult trials and times of testing.
Because his burden was to share what he had gleaned from Scripture about the deputation ministry, he desired for his wife Cathy to later edit his manuscripts, bring the entire process to completion in a book format, have it professionally printed, and make it available to Bible-believing mission boards, Christian colleges, pastors, and young missionaries who would willingly submit themselves to the Lord for mission deputation and future service in God's harvest field.
